ProtectEU - European Internal Security Strategy
The European ProtectEU Strategy sets out an ambitious roadmap to strengthen the continent's security and resilience in the coming years. Its main objective is to increase the capacities of EU countries to protect societies and democratic systems against a variety of threats, whether digital or physical.
Designed to tackle complex challenges, the strategy seeks to combat risks from terrorist groups, criminal networks and foreign actors with hostile intentions. More than that, it aims to integrate security considerations across the board, ensuring that each new European policy incorporates a comprehensive protection and prevention perspective, thus complementing the Strategy for a Union of Preparedness, which defines an integrated, all-hazards approach to preparing for conflicts, disasters and crises.
ProtectEU's innovative approach aims to create a safer and more resilient environment by anticipating and neutralising potential threats before they can cause significant damage to European communities.
