On 24 October, CNPCE and the Communications Emergency Planning Commission (CPE) participated in an exercise promoted by ANACOM, which aimed to train those involved, raise awareness of the risks and vulnerabilities associated with submarine cable infrastructure and, at the same time, strengthen trust and cooperation between the various actors responsible for incident management. Around 40 entities participated in the exercise, including the private sector, operators and manufacturers, regulators, various public, civil and military entities, as well as several municipalities. Electronic communications networks play a key role in the provision of essential services, and submarine cables are central to this process, meaning that a disruption in the networks could have serious consequences in various areas of society.
